Level 1: critical
--Severe difficulty breathing, pale diaphoretic
Resuscitation
--Immediate treatment, many resources needed, staff at bedside.
Level 2: High Risk
--Confusion, Suicidal behavior, Altered mental status
Emergent
--Do not delay treatment, notify physician, multiple diagnostic studies
Level 3: Moderate risk
--Palpitations, Difficulty functioning, extremely anxious
Urgent
--refer for treatment as soon as possible, monitor for change in condition, contact crisis worker
Level 4: Low Risk
--Hyperventilation, profuse sweating, persistent upset stomach
Semi Urgent
--provide bag and hyperventilation instructions as necessary, reassess while waiting, offer comfort measures.
Level 5: Lower Risk
--no physical symptoms, history of anxiety episodes and now asymptomatic
Non-Urgent
--offer comfort measures, may need an examination only..
